France, Part Two: The Market

The market in Aix was one of the highlights of our trip for me. The first time I wandered through I was in a complete daze. Overwhelmed as I took in the rows upon rows of fresh fruit, vegetables, cheeses and meats, jams and preserves, woven baskets, antique furniture and art and books and the list goes on.. It was pure magic.

I loved watching the people weave through the stalls, collecting their daily produce and all the fixings for dinner. We grabbed peaches (so ripe and delicious!) and ate them by the fountain in the middle of the square each morning, just people watching. I remember feeling like I was in the exact place I was meant to be. So completely content.

ps. I just love that photo of my husband with his peach. I love how accurately it captures that moment and just how juicy the fruit was.
