A visit to Van Deusen Garden had been on the books for quite some time. With so many summer activities in full swing, it was difficult to find the time (and energy) to fit in the date nights we had lined up. A few evening ago, when the air was thick and warm, the way it gets right after a summer rainfall, we jumped in the car and headed over to the gardens for a stroll.
We were the only people in the park that night. The sun had already set and everything was soaked in a dewy glow. Visiting a garden after a rainfall was unexpectedly enchanting, each plant giving off the sweetest bouquet. We were happy to get lost between the rows of planted trees, cherishing each one as we passed by.
These simple activities are so meaningful, and they really do bless our marriage.
